Gravity Rush June 2014
Prince Andrew School entered three karts into the Gravity Rush event this year, "No Guts, No Glory", driven by Curtis was overall winner, with "Ming" making it into the semi finals. Our traditional all-wooden kart named "Arrow" won the hearts of many due to it's old-fashioned simplicity and fun.
Prince Andrew School team triumph in the 2014 Gravity Rush
When Curtis and Mr George held up the cup as winners of the 2014 Gravity Rush everyone in the Prince Andrew School community felt a great sense of pride that ‘No Guts no Glory’ was the winning Kart.
What a great day with so many different designs of kart competing in the event in such a wonderful atmosphere between the competitors and supported by an expectant crowd.
The slide show above shows Instructor and mentor Mr Geoffrey George with the students fropm PAS and their creations. These included the revamped second place kart from last year under the new name of ‘Ming’ alongside the new kart ‘No Guts No Glory’. We also had a new Kart this year which returned back to the roots of the traditional go kart with an all wooden construction called the ‘Arrow’.
What was fantastic, was how well the team of students worked so closely together. They overcame the technological challenges and developed a myriad of construction skills in the process of designing and making three karts.
There were very proud to represent Prince Andrew School and we were all very proud of them.
Look out next year!!!
